M40 Cyclic Maintenance

We’re helping to reduce congestion and make travel on the M40 safer and more reliable as part of a £4m routine and cyclic maintenance contract with the Highways Agency.

Carillion has experience of all aspects of motorway maintenance and particularly strong expertise in quickly responding to road traffic incidents and remotely monitoring road conditions.

We have been working closely with the Highways Agency for a number of years to provide a complete maintenance service for almost the whole of the M40, from its central London origins right up to junction 15 near Warwick.

The contract covers everything from attendance at major accidents and a daily programme of road clearance through the maintenance of lighting, emergency telephones, barriers and signs, to the remediation of land slippage or subsidence and the clearance of drainage channels to prevent blockages and flooding.
